R+R High Stool Miyazaki introduces the R+R High Stool, a refined companion to the R+R Counter Chair. Designed by Koizumi, it further explores the essence of the R+R series, where every element has a purpose and nothing is added for ornamentation alone. “The R+R series does not seek to create presence through ornamentation.” Instead, its strength lies in the purity of its lines and the balance of its proportions. By removing everything unnecessary, the design brings into focus what truly matters: craftsmanship, sensibility and vision. A simplicity that demands precision in every detail. The absence of a backrest is not merely a subtraction. It called for a careful reconsideration of the stool’s dimensions to preserve the integrity of the original design while ensuring a comfortable and balanced seating position. The seat has therefore been widened, offering the support needed for a natural sitting posture without compromising the stool’s compact, understated character. A design defined not by what has been removed, but by the precision with which everything that remains has been considered. The maximum seat height has also been increased to SH 74 cm.
