Crafted with precision at the Miyazaki Chair Factory, the DC11 redefines the quality of details in wooden furniture. Each element, from the backrest to the seat and legs, is independently crafted to engage both the eye and the hand, creating a harmonious balance of form, texture and purpose. Its smooth lines and organic connections invite both visual and tactile engagement. A key challenge was integrating rigid materials such as paper cord with flexible wood, particularly in the backrest. The result is a chair that is not only visually striking but also ergonomically refined, offering a perfect balance between form and function. Special attention has been given to the joinery in the DC11. Instead of concealing the joints, they have been elevated to become true focal points of the design. This is especially evident in the wooden back version, where the arms, legs and backrest, though crafted from separate components, come together in perfectly executed connections. These joints are not only a testament to craftsmanship but also invite touch, emphasizing the tactile beauty of the piece.
