Bo Chair

The BO Chair, a contemporary take on the classic Windsor Chair, draws inspiration from the meeting between designer Koizumi and Japanese Windsor Chair master Mr. Murakami. Despite the encounter sparking Koizumi's fascination, it wasn't until 30 years after Murakami's passing that he pursued the idea, aiming to honor Murakami's legacy by crafting a light, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing Windsor chair. By combining the traditional construction method of a Windsor with Miyazaki Chair's techniques, the result is a slender yet sturdy chair that gently wraps around the body, with details such as a twisted back pillar and round back bars arranged at various angles to provide firm support and comfort for the user. Moreover, the practicality of the BO Chair shines through its narrow width of 42 cm, allowing for three people to comfortably sit along the long side of a 150-cm table. Its ability to be conveniently tucked under the table further maximizes space efficiency, making it an ideal choice for compact dining areas. With advanced technologies from the Miyazaki Chair Factory, the BO Chair achieves a lighter weight while maintaining structural integrity, offering a new expression of the Windsor chair. Available in different wood species and customizable with options like mixing oak and walnut, the BO Chair embodies both elegance and functionality, with a thin back stile featuring seven vertical stiles on the backrest adding to its refined design.
